New England Hot Dog Company Announces Opening of First Franchise In Taunton, Massachusetts

TAUNTON, MA - Bristol, Amherst, Truro, Marblehead, Taunton. Names of New England cities? Yes, but these are also the names of gourmet hotdogs topped with fresh ingredients like roasted peppers, cheddar cheese, Buffalo sauce and other creative toppings. Get them right here at the New England Hot Dog Company, Northwoods Crossing, 2093 Bay Street in Taunton.

The concept is simple at New England Hot Dog Company. We take an American icon, the hot dog, and add a twist. Calling them “gourmet hotdogs, unleashed,” these “haute” dogs are topped with everything from the traditional sauerkraut, beans and mustard to bacon, jalapenos or guacamole. You choose.

“The bottom line is that these hot dogs are good,” said Sandy Randon, partner in Dog Pound, Inc., the owners of the Taunton franchise. “This restaurant is a fun place for family dining, where the kids and the adults will be happy.”

Indeed, customers can choose from 25 menu combinations on 14 different types of dogs or create their own Smorgasdog™ with any or all of 50 toppings. There are turkey dogs, bratwurst, kielbasa, kosher dogs, linguica, sausage and more all on a toasted or steamed New England style bun.

For dessert, New England Hot Dog Company features over 20 flavors of Brigham’s ice cream, a 90 year old New England brand.

The Taunton store features the “Dog Pound,” an area for kids and birthday parties and there are other comforts and conveniences like plasma television, a drive-through window and free WiFi Internet access.

This is the second New England Hot Dog Company restaurants to open this year. The first store opened in Marblehead, Mass. in May.
